Hi

I’m Krithi — and Katha Kitchen is a piece of my heart.

This project was born in my Ammama’s kitchen, during long, lazy summer holidays. I’d watch her expertly shape pathiris and steam soft, fragrant rice ada, always made just for me. The smell of coconut, rice flour, and ghee would fill the air and wrap around me like a hug. She’s no longer with us, but those flavours — and the love she folded into them — still linger, as vivid as ever.

Over the years, I’ve come to realise that every home has its own Ammama, its own treasured dish, its own story. A chutney passed down from a great-grandmother, a festival sweet made only once a year, a secret masala that holds generations together. These aren’t just recipes — they’re memories. They’re history.

Katha Kitchen is my way of preserving these stories — not just from my life, but from kitchens everywhere. Because food carries more than just flavour. It carries emotion, identity, and legacy.

If you have a dish with a story — a memory that rises with the steam of something cooking — I’d love to hear it. This space is as much yours as it is mine. Let’s make sure these beautiful tales never fade away.

With warmth,
Krithi
